About the house

What to know about Odumiņi before you book

This is the long answer to the question what kind of place this is. No marketing language: what the house is, what the nightly rate covers, what costs extra, and when you should choose something else.

What kind of house this is

Odumiņi is a restored 70 m² log house on two floors in Varakļāni parish, Madona municipality. It is one house for one group — rooms are not let separately, and there are no other guests next door.

The character of a log building — wooden beams and a wide second-floor lounge — is combined with everyday comforts, so the house works as well in July as it does in January.

  • An equipped kitchen with a coffee machine, microwave, fridge and tableware
  • A living room with a dining area on the ground floor
  • A second-floor lounge with a TV and beds
  • A 15 m² second-floor terrace looking over the grounds
  • Underfloor heating in winter and air conditioning in summer

What is included and what costs extra

The nightly rate is for the whole house for two guests. It always includes the hot tub — there is nothing to add for it, and the house cannot be booked without it.

  • The whole house — not a room in a shared building
  • A premium hot tub in the glazed 24 m² orangery, available all year
  • Two hectares of grounds, a gazebo with a BBQ and a 15 m² terrace
  • A playground with swings, a slide and a sandpit

Charged separately: the wood-fired sauna (50 € for up to 3 h), each additional adult beyond two guests (25 € for the whole stay) and children aged 3 to 18 (10 € for the whole stay). Children under 3 stay free.

A booking is confirmed by a deposit of 50 € per night. Check-in from 16:00, check-out by 11:00.

When this place is the wrong choice

Better to say it now than to disappoint you on arrival.

  • The house is meant for a small group — it is too small for larger celebrations or company events
  • Quiet hours apply overnight, so this is not the place for a loud party
  • There is no public transport connection — you will need a car

If you are looking for a cabin for two and do not need a playground, our other house, Teiči, is a few hundred metres away. We have written the comparison honestly — including where the other one is the better choice.
